Lifeloc Technologies History

Lifeloc Technologies, Inc.

For over 25 years Lifeloc Technologies has been a pioneer in the design, engineering, and manufacture of Portable Breath Alcohol Testers (PBTs) and Evidential Breath Testers (EBTs), also commonly referred to as "Breathalyzers". Headquartered in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, Lifeloc Technologies is an American owned and operated success story.

Today Lifeloc professional alcohol testing instruments are used in over 35 countries and find application in Law Enforcement, Schools, the Workplace, and wherever there is need for alcohol detection and monitoring. But one idea remains unchanged – breath alcohol testers can be both highly precise and easy to use.

From the earliest days, Lifeloc created breath alcohol testers of the high precision and reliability demanded by professionals. A big advantage is that Lifeloc breath testers are easier to use and longer lasting than most units offered by competitors. The combination of precision fuel cell measurement with intuitive and simple menu driven operation has never been matched.

Now, Lifeloc brings this experience to the growing consumer market for breathalyzers. The LifeGuard is unique in that it blends professional-grade accuracy and precision with ease of use in an attractive and affordable consumer product.

A full range of professional use models and patented, state-of-the-art technology ensures our instruments are perfectly suited to the professional markets they serve. Our professional units are tested and approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), as well as multiple state forensic laboratories and laboratories in other countries. In 2014 Lifeloc purchased Superior Training Solutions,, a leader in online training courses for supervisor and employee drug and alcohol training.
